Meet Our Staff!




Patti Sue Burton-Pye has been serving as Pastor of Providence Lutheran Church since 2008. She is a graduate of Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, SC with a Masters of Divinity. She currently resides in Lexington and is married to Russell Pye. Over her many years in ministry, Pastor Patti Sue has been very involved in both community and church-related activities. Currently, Pastor Patti Sue serves as an advisor to the Board of Directors of LaVie Pregnancy Care Center, Midway Elementary School Counselor Advisory Committee, and Lakeside Middle School Counselor Advisory Committee. She serves as Head Spiritual Director on the SC Secretariat of Via de Cristo, and as committee chair to the SC Synod of the ELCA Audit Committee. She also serves on the Congregational Vitality team of the SC Synod of the ELCA and on the Region 9 of the ELCA Boundaries education committee.
Amber Mcnorton serves as the Preschool Director at Providence. Amber has worked at Providence Lutheran Church preschool (PLCP) for 9 years. Amber is a proud boy mom to 23-year-old, John, 21-year-old, Owen and 13- year-old, Liam. She is married to Shane McNorton and they happily reside here in Lexington with their 2 dogs and cat. If you don't find Amber here at PLCP, you will find her spending her spare time with family and friends.
Steph Lawhorn has been serving as PLC's administrator since March of 2018. Steph moved to South Carolina from Maryland in September of 2015, and her parents Deb and Eddie followed suit a year later. They have fallen in love with Lexington. She and her husband, Mikey, welcomed a beautiful baby girl in November 2017 and a sweet baby boy in November 2020. Steph loves her family, animals, children and helping others any way she can. She is so excited to be a part of Providence Lutheran Church’s community.
Rhett Lever is a versatile singer, pianist, composer, music-instructor, music-director and writer who loves their life and lives each day striving to help other people achieve their goals and reach their utmost potential. Rhett believes that true success takes more than just drive, creativity, passion and intelligence. He believes it takes kindness and the willingness to selflessly help others. An overarching goal in Rhett’s career and life is to leave this world a more beautiful place sharing music, words of encouragement and universal love.
