Patti Sue Burton-Pye has been serving as Pastor of Providence Lutheran Church since 2008. She is a
graduate of Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary (LTSS) in Columbia, SC. She currently resides in
Lexington. She is married to Russell Pye and has two children, Christopher and Sarah Beth. Patti Sue
serves on the board of directors at of Lexington Interfaith Community Services (LICS), and enjoys spending
her spare hours with family.
Rachel Moore holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Columbia College, a music performance degree from
Anderson College, and National Board Certification in Music Education. A retired music teacher, she taught
all ages from K4/K5 through high school. Rachel has worked in music ministry within various denominations
beginning with being the church pianist at her hometown country church before she was in middle school,
quite a few years ago! She has served in music ministry in various capacities over the past 50+ years and has
worked with all age groups from Cherubs through Adult. She is an excited grandmother of six, proud mother
of two sons, and happy wife of 45 years to husband Michael. Born and raised in the upstate, Lexington has
been her home since 1983.
Betsy Culler serves as the Preschool Director at Providence, and is also a teacher in the two year-old
classroom this year! Betsy has worked at Providence Lutheran Church's Preschool (PLCP) for 10 years.
Her 12 year-old daughter, Lia, graduated from PLCP! Betsy grew up in Eastover, South Carolina, but has
been living in Lexington for 19 years. She is married to Ben Culler. They have two cats, Yoko and Uno, and a
dog named Josie.
Steph Lawhorn has been serving as PLC's administrator since March of 2018. Steph moved to South
Carolina from Maryland in September of 2015, and her parents Deb and Eddie followed suit a year later.
They have fallen in love with Lexington. She and her husband, Mikey, welcomed a beautiful baby
girl in November 2017 and a sweet baby boy in November 2020. Steph loves her family, animals,
children and helping others any way she can. She is so excited to be a part of Providence Lutheran
