Backpack Program at Providence

 

Many weeks in the summer after Sunday worship, members gather in the education building to assemble bags to be delivered to local schools, and eventually into kids' backpacks. Our Preschool helps with this too! For many of those kids who receive a bag, a school lunch is the only healthy meal they would normally receive throughout the day. Inside each bag is enough food to keep them from going hungry over the weekend when school lunches are not available.

 

This program has grown over the years, and Providence currently partners with other local churches and community organizations to help support this outreach ministry.
