Ministries at Providence

Worship & Sunday School

Providence Lutheran Church offers Sunday School to all ages on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. The first Sunday of each month is a potluck breakfast! Afterwards, we worship together in the sanctuary at 11:00 a.m.
Sunday worship is "blended", meaning some aspects of the service are traditional, while other aspects are more contemporary.
We invite you to join us; there's always a spot in the pew for you and your family!

Reaching In

We believe in having a transformational ministry that brings members into this community of belivers to further God’s mission. We believe that meeting Jesus changes people, changed people change churches, and changed churches change the world. We also know that God gives us what we need to answer this call.
Through Bible Study led by Pastor Patti Sue, worship, and other ministries at Providence, we seek to be become disciples of Christ.
We invite you to learn more and be a part of this ministry.
Lexington Evening of Prayer

Pastor Patti Sue coordinated a community service of unity, prayer, music, and candlelight which was held at the Icehouse Amphitheater on the evening of Tuesday, October 10, 2017.
Religious leaders and lay people came together to offer prayers for our community, nation, and the world. Providence Lutheran Church's music director led a sung litany for peace and healing of all nations. Songs of worship and praise were offered by groups from multiple congregations. Students from two local Lutheran preschools sang two of their favorite songs.
We are ecstatic to report that there were over 200 people in attendance. 13 congregations were represented from four different denominations, and eight churches participated actively in the service. We have received positive feedback and hope to hold similar events in the future. Contact the church office if you would like to get involved!

Reaching Out

Changed people and churches can change the world! The members of Providence take this call to heart through various programs and ministries.
One of the main outreach programs Providence is involved with, in conjunction with other area churches, is a Backpack Feeding Program. This program provides meals to students who might otherwise go hungry when not in school.
Members of Providence also support Mission Lexington through volunteer work and drives.
We invite you to take part in helping make a difference in the lives of those outside the church walls!
